Liebster - Part 2

In my recent post Liebster - Part 1 I was excited to share that Birgitta of Handmade and Off-centered had nominated me for the Liebster Award. Here are the next parts of my Liebster response :)

My Answers to Birgitta's 11 Questions

1. What is your favorite thing to make?
Scarves. Because they are fairly quick!

2. What is your dream vacation?
The Maldives. We honeymooned there and I would love to go back :) This is a photo of a photo - I don't have an electronic copy of it, we used a camera with film back then!

3. If you could visit with someone from the blog world, what blogger would that be?
I think it would be you Birgitta! Your Little People are so sweet, and Iceland looks amazing. I stole one of your pictures. Hope that's ok :)

4. Who taught you how to knit/crochet/sew?
I learned to knit and sew at school, and my Mum helped me a bit when I got stuck. I taught myself to crochet and the first thing I crocheted was a scarf for Little Miss. (see question 1 lol)

5. What is your all time favorite color?
Red. Always red. A few of my red things ....

6. What about you makes you stand out or is a little different than most people you know?
I'm Northern Irish. Living in England, most of my friends are English, so my accent stands out a bit.

7. What would be your ideal perfect day?
Sunny and warm but not too hot, time at the beach with hubby and the Little People, ice-cream and frappucinos, then feet up with a dvd and crochet on the sofa with hubby :) And someone cooking all the food!

8. What yarn is your favorite and why?
I'm not very adventurous with yarn. At the moment I'd have to say my favourite is the attic24 Stylecraft pack that I got for my birthday :) Yarn-tastic!

9. Do you attend a knitting/crochet/sewing group regularly?
Yes, I hook with  The Barkham Hookers , run by Gaynor of Confessions of a Barkham Hooker one morning a week.

10. What are your top 5 favorite blogs?
Before I started blogging properly, my favourites were Attic24, LittleTin Bird, Fiber Flux, LittleWoollie and BunnyMummy. I still visit all of these regularly, but I love loads more, too many to mention !

11. In what way has blogging made a difference in your life?
I find myself looking for the fun and happiness in my life so I can blog about it, its really helped me switch to a more positive outlook.

  1. Oh wow Jill, thank you! Gosh, I'm a bit lost for words (not unusual). I'm forced to have a quiet day today and this will give me something to mull over and keep my mind focused on positive things.
    Bless you,
    Tracey xxx

    1. I've got mine mostly written, just need to add some photos :-) will try and publish tomorrow.
Did you count both bloglovin followers and blogger followers or just blogger followers? Thanks Jill xxx

    2. Hi Tracey, I've just replied on one of your Liebster posts, sorry I haven't replied, keep trying on my phone, but stupid thing won't do it ..... anyway, you've obv decided to crack on (well done!), and just to say, I didnt actually bother about number of followers, just tried to find newish (started this year) blogs which didn't appear to have been awarded the award before!

  2. This must have been a time consuming post for you! Its a great way of learning more about our fellow bloggers!
How lovely to have received all those yarns, a rainbow of colour!
    Have a great weekend!
    Gill xx

    1. it was time-consuming, yes, but lots of fun :)
I am a total Stylecraft addict now, it is gorgeous :)

    1. Thanks! I really must get it posted aaarrgghhh so disorganised (and secretly enjoying gazing at it all ribboned up on my coffee table ....)

  5. Jill thank you so much for nominating my blog, so exciting, I'm mulling over the answers and will get arond to posting about it soom
    Clare xx

    1. You're more than welcome :) Look forward to reading yours - it took me aaaaages to write my posts so I apologise for giving you that burden! And if you just can't find time don't be stressing about it :)

  6. Hi Jill, thanks so much for the nomination ... just one question (me having so little blogland savvy) how does one tell how many followers a blog has .. I just jog along posting my journal not really too concerned about the numbers!!

    1. Hi Pat, I couldn't figure that out either (and couldn't be bothered to try - tut - lazy) so I just picked blogs that were quite new (started this year or late last year) and didn't seem to have had the award before. This was the bit that took the longest - which is why I stopped at 7 - I was bloghopping for flipping ages :)
Have fun doing your posts, and like I said to Clare above, if its just too much to fit in, or you don't want to do it, then don't stress about it, its in no way meant to stress you out :)

  7. It was perfect. Sigh. At the time I said I wanted to go back for our 10 year anniversary, but when we got to 10 years we had a 9 year old (yes he was a honeymoon baby), an 8 yr old, and a 4 yr old. Somehow it wouldnt have been the same .....Maybe our 25 year anniversary!

  8. Congratulations on your award Jill! Can you e-mail me please? You should be able to reply to this comment. Thank you! Amy xx

  9. What a great read. I think this is a great way to get to know your fellow bloggers. How sweet you are, I would love to visit England and pop in for some frothy coffee and a little crochet time. Sounds great actually. England is so magical in my mind. I would love to walk down the streets and take in all of the old buildings and the landscape.
Thanks for doing this post. I know it is very time consuming.

    Birgitta xoxo
